Keeping Students Safe in a Digital World

Keeping Students Safe

Since the introduction of the personal computer, technology has been growing, changing, and evolving faster every year. MacArthur students do not remember a time without cell phones, tablets, or readily available Wi-Fi. Their dependency on technology no longer can be ignored. Therefore, schools must adapt to the changing culture of the world we live in. As with anything else, for every benefit, there are also drawbacks. The World Wide Web has opened itself to thieves, criminals and bullies. As teachers, and most of all, as parents, we must education our children about online safety in order for them to connect to the endless possibilities that are available now.

That’s why MacArthur has partnered with Common Sense Media to provide lesson plans, tips, videos, and other materials to help parents and teachers keep our students safe in the digital world. Please view the links to the left in the navigation panel. There is helpful information on how to encourage your children to become responsible digital citizens.
